[PART TWO] One Social Media Tip For Each of Vulture's "Comedians You Should Know"
Simple suggestions for each of the 2025 selections.
Hello from Los Angeles! Today we’re continuing with providing a single social media tip to each of the annual crop of comedians selected for Vulture’s annual ‘Comedians You Should and Will Know’ list earlier this week. In case you missed it, here is a link to part one:
With so many eyeballs on their profiles, I figured it would be helpful to offer each of them a social media tip they could immediately apply. Many agents, managers, comedians, and comedy nerds will be viewing their online presence over these next few days, and these small changes could be the difference between someone successfully getting a taste of their comedic style, buying tickets to an upcoming show, or losing interest entirely.
Ismael Loutfi
The link to Ismael’s special, Sound It Out, via his Instagram Story Highlight has a built-in timestamp at the 26 minute, 7 second mark:

Julia Masli
PROBLEM1: Julia’s website is still promoting live shows that already happened in June-August:
Also, as a colorblind person, the combination of red text and blue background is an extremely difficult contrast for me to read text within. I can’t decode what any of the top tabs say to the left of “Workshops”, and the parts with blue text on a blue background are practically invisible.
But do go see Julia’s show, if you ever get the chance! I saw it 9 times during its first run at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2023, it’s one of my all time favorite shows.
Taylor Ortega
One of the links in Taylor’s Instagram bio is to a New York Comedy Festival show from November 2024:
I really enjoyed her Stapleview show, Clear the Air, by the way:
Eric Rahill
Right now, Eric’s LinkTree only has one link, and it’s a show that happened a month ago:
I would instead funnel his Instagram audience towards watching The Paper on Peacock, on which Eric is fantastic (more on that show, another time)
Amita Rao
Amita’s Instagram bio link is still promoting a show that happened last month:

Paris Sashay
The Story Highlights atop Paris’ Instagram account are all 6+ years old (presumably from before this account was intended to be public-facing)

Sahib Singh
Sahib’s website is still listing shows that already happened. He seems like a great candidate to be using a service like PunchUp.Live, since he’s touring so much:
Derrick Stroup
Derrick has three different profile pictures across his Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook profiles. I would standardize this (ideally to a picture of you holding a microphone and on stage, so we can make it clear to strangers who stumble across your profile that you are someone who does stand up comedy)

Jo Sunday
Like Tessa Belle, Jo’s co-host of Body Count featured in yesterday’s email, Jo has a similar Instagram bio where she tags other accounts in a credits-style format.
But it isn’t immediately clear that Body Count is a recurring show she hosts:
Jacob Wysocki
There are multiple links in Jacob's LinkTree to abandoned podcasts / older projects:
And for the uninitiated, here are my general thoughts on LinkTree for comedians:
I hope this was helpful and actionable. My purpose in doing this is not to single anyone out, but to illustrate there are ways for every single comedian to improve their social media presence, even if they’re about to blow up.
Vulture just offered each of these comedians what I like to call a “megaphone moment”, an amplification of awareness that directs a ton of incoming traffic towards your online presence. When you earn a moment like this, where thousands of people are suddenly browsing your website or watching your pinned Instagram Reels, it’s crucial to make it as easy as possible for them to join your Patreon, subscribe to your mailing list, or buy tickets to an upcoming show.
IYKYK
Dear David,
Another banger!
Just wanted to say I saw Julia Masli's show in Edinburgh as well and she is incredible!
Thanks for sharing all this!
