Hello from Edinburgh, and a special shoutout to all of you who attended my talk at Just For Laughs in Montréal last week. It’s always such a delight meeting you all in person. If you’re attending the Fringe, and want to grab coffee or a meal, do let me know!

I started writing this outside the queue of one of the JFL New Faces showcases, so here’s one quick social media tip for each of the selected stand-up comedians.

Many agents, managers, comedians, and producers will be looking up your website and social media profiles over these next few days, so these small changes could be the difference between someone successfully or unsuccessfully getting in touch with you, buying tickets to your show, or losing interest entirely. The first half of 15 tips will be free, while the remainder will be available for paying subscribers only.

  • Your personal website link in your LinkTree doesn’t work

    • Also, here are my general thoughts on the effectiveness of LinkTree.

  • I would also privatize how much $$ you’re making per month from your Patreon

Anjelica Scannura

  • Lots of outdated shows still being promoted in your LinkTree

Aurie Styla

  • The TikTok icon on your website doesn’t lead to anything when you click on it:

Bruce Gray

  • You’re only funneling to your personal website from the bio in your TikTok, but not on your Instagram or your YouTube channel.

Chloe Petts

  • Mention the details of your Edinburgh Fringe show in your bio!

Chloe Radcliffe

  • Your tour dates in your Story Highlights are all 6+ months old:

Conor Janda

  • Your LinkTree is still plugging a live show from three months ago:

Dan Duvall

  • Still plugging a ton of old shows in your Linktree:

Dan Rath

  • Mention the details of your Edinburgh Fringe show in your bio and add a direct link to purchase tickets. Current bio is pretty bare and doesn’t let us know where you are or that you’re about to perform a ton in the coming few months.

Dan Tiernan

  • Your bio mentions your Fringe show tickets,

  • but your bio link goes to a Linktree that features a link to “edfringe.com” and a link to a live show in Birmingham from two months ago. I would get rid of the LinkTree for now and just link directly to buy tickets to your Fringe show.

Dean Stanfield

  • Lots of old Instagram Story Highlights that haven’t been updated in years:

Dvontre Coleman

  • Your social media pages aren’t linked anywhere on your website.

Dylan Adler

  • I would get rid of the LinkTree for now and just link directly to buy tickets to your Edinburgh Fringe show.

Grace Johnson

  • Your LinkTree is very duplicative. For instance, there are multiple links to both your Instagram and YouTube. I would check the LinkTree analytics and see what people are (and aren’t clicking on).

Hayden Johnson

  • If you only have two links in your LinkTree, and one of them is your TikTok, I would instead link to the Seattle show in your bio.
